What is the Paediatric First Aid Certificate?
We offer a 6 or 12 hour course to develop skills and understanding in order to become a named first aider within a childcare or early years setting. This course is delivered at Tigers Training Centre on a regular basis and are delivered over two or three afternoons or evenings or at weekends to suit different settings and learners.
Who is the course for
This course is suitable for practitioners working in an early years, home environment or school setting to administer first aid to preserve life and prevent further harm. It is a suitable qualification for those who have no previous experience of administering first aif but is also a recommended continual professional development qualification to be updated every three years.
Course Structure
The course covers knowledge, understanding and practical demostrations of emergency scenarios and first aid procedures including accident and emergency first aid, dealing with and recognising allergic reactions, CPR and preserving life in various situations. There is a short examination at the end of the course which the learner needs to pass in order to achieve the qualification
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements although it is expected that learners will have satisfactory level of literacy in order to complete the exam at the end of the course
